We present collective selfreflection (German original: Kollektive Selbstverständigung, KSV) as a critical small-group practice for reflecting on and transforming our contradictory everyday practices within capitalism. In a KSV session, participants engage with issues in their conduct of everyday life and strive to understand their subjective reasons for action within the context of societal power structures. We reflect on the relationship between individual and societal emancipation and seek alternative, generalizable courses of action. This practice is grounded in theoretical concepts, particularly Critical Psychology and the notion of social selfreflection (Soziale Selbstverständigung) developed by Klaus Holzkamp, as well as other social and transformation theories. While KSV does not replace psychotherapy, it might enrich therapeutic approaches through its emancipatory focus. KSV is not a fixed method but an evolving practice shaped by the needs and contexts of the participants. Additionally, we introduce the KSV Network, a group of individuals who engage with this topic through collective theory development, text production, and the formation of temporary local and regional groups where KSV sessions are practiced in various settings.
