Summary
The book focusses on different aspects of the history of Psychoanalysis in its beginnings. It shows how Sigmund Freud came to develop his theories on depression, narcissism, orality and anality or the death drive and how he was influenced by theories of his followers. It not only gives insight on how Freud worked theoretically but also clinically as it presents an evaluation of Freud´s calender in which he kept record of his patients´ sessions from 1910 – 1920, thus giving us detailled information about the duration and frequency of his analyses.
