Summary
Galliker sketches psychology´s history by the landmarks of its controversies. In a chronological presentation he introduces the discipline´s major topics starting by their philosophical origins. His comment that is appended to his historical portrayal has the outline of critical rationalism which mediates between the controversies´ individual positions without forfeiting a distinctive statement of his own. Over all, the book is a lecture worth reading for those who strive to understand psychology´s backgrounds.
