Summary
"Art Education in Germany" is the first book in English about developments, concepts and practice projects of art education in the German educational system. It offers a revealing insight into the variety and diversity of German art education theory components, access ways and work and outlines selected results of empirical research. It addresses an international reader's circle and opens starting points for a deepening discourse, stronger interlinking and future cooperation. The school art education is in the focus. However, also for professional forces in extracurricular and/or social-educational fields of action in European and non-European countries, the reading of the book represents an enrichment. For the German speaking reader the reading of the original contributions, see www.archive.org or www.kunstlinks.de, can be seen as a suitable alternative.
