Jürgen Schöntauf wrote a book about sense-fulfilling enterprises in German speaking countries.
Enterprises that are taking responsibility for what they are doing: for their products and for the consequences of their production processes in the social, ecological and economical sphere. He called the entrepreneurs who work like this "sensemakers (Sinnstifter)", yet the title of his book.
The author starts his book by explaining his own motivation as an entrepreneur: "A reason to write this book is my own value orientation. Starting from a deeply grounded optimism, that we don’t live indeed in a perfect world but in a good one, everybody has the chance to make the world even better." (p.9) Schöntauf wrote his book consistently in this spirit. The book therefore is inspiring, exciting by the examples of diverse lines of business, and encouraging.
