Discussion

The book on hand is a reference book which meets the requirements of „train the trainer“. With this manual professional counselors likes coaches, therapists, trainers etc. find an applicable guide for the certified prevention program on how to stay strong under stress. The content of the three training modules is being introduced and complemented by online material and tips for the training in between the training units. Though the offered work material doesn´t replace the qualification for trainers itself. The preceded scientific introduction imparts the connection between stress and emotions to the reader and derives strategies on how to remain to oneself and react appropriate even when under negative stress and aversive emotions. Due to their high expertise and longstanding experience the authors odder theoretical insight as well as implementable exercises for individual and interaction related stress and emotion control. With their book Eckert and Tarnowski make an important contribution in the field of stress prevention programs it is desirable that as much multiplicators as possible work with this practical stress prevention program.

Summary

This manual isn´t a reference for simply for generating new knowledge. The manual probes the complexity of stress(sensibility) and also expects the trainees to do so. Trainers, moderators, psychologists and other recipients of this program learn about themselves, about their emotions, reactions and will be able to find ways to stay capable of acting and interacting or to become so again. The book tempts to take part in the training on how to stay stronger under stress and „activating reading“ is how Eckert and Tarnowski reach an optimum of impact.
