Summary
Overall, „Solidarität in Bewegung“ is both a challenging and stimulating work that is suitable for students, lecturers and practitioners of Social Work, especially for clarifying basic questions of professional ethics on the basis of current developments. It will also be of interest to socio-political activists.
The authors of the book provide compelling arguments for a redetermination of fundamental questions of human solidarity in a global and local existential interconnectedness from different fields of social sciences, civic engagement and also from related experiential knowledge. Which levels of our life worlds this affects in which way is made clear in particular by the mixture of the different backgrounds of the authors. The impulses that emanate from their consistently vivid contributions invite us to confront our own habitual imprints and 'normalities' and, as a consequence, to use our own privileges in the sense of a powersharing in solidarity that is sensitive to difference, for the benefit of everyone and everything.
