Summary

With this work, Thea Bauriedl has posthumously rendered an invaluable service to the unique significance of psychoanalysis as the paradigm of a critical theory of the subject. Her starting point is a dialectical-emancipatory principle, which she sees realized not only in the classical psychoanalytic therapy situation. For many non-clinical settings, she describes in great detail and meticulously how the deep-rooted potential of psychoanalysis can also be effective beyond the couch. She describes the processes of change in psychotherapy, couples and family therapy, in the therapy of children, adolescents and their parents as well as in supervision. Finally, she sheds light on the opportunities of a political psychoanalysis that is willing to take on all areas of social erosion.

Schwerpunkte: Behinderten- und Heilpädagogik, Psychoanalyti­sche Pädagogik sowie die Arbeit mit so genannten verhaltensauffälligen Kindern und Jugendlichen. Seit 2015 lehrt er als Seniorprofessor am Institut für Sonderpädagogik der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt.
