Summary

This book is not only worth reading for readers with an affinity for theory, as it is a clever, insightful essay on the genealogy of body politics from the Enlightenment to the present day. On the one hand, Govrin reconstructs the dominance of male power, which provides a multitude of technologies of exploitation, exclusion and control for people who are ascribed a surplus of nature and corporeality: the feminized, racialized, precarious bodies.
