Summary
The anthology “Transgender and Psychoanalysis: Perspectives beyond the Culture War” is an excellent contribution to support psychoanalysis on its way to protect and support the gender integrity and self-determination of people - even if people locate themselves outside of simple binary-bisexual templates. Overall, the volume succeeds excellently in describing a way out so that psychoanalysis no longer has to decide, with regard to gender integrity and self-determination, “who would be better off undergoing a cure before being recognized” (p. 25).
