Summary
‘Die Reform der Pädagogik’ by emeritus professor and co-editor of the Collected Works of Maria Montessori Volker Ladenthin offers an innovative contribution to the discourse on a systematic concept of reformist education. From the perspective of Montessori pedagogy, Ladenthin convincingly reconstructs an exemplary history of reformist education, which he expands beyond its canonical boundaries and appropriates in a contemporary critical manner. With ‘life’ as a hermeneutic key to reformist education, the volume offers an exciting look at historical and contemporary forms of reformist education, which is recommended to interested Montessori readers as well as pedagogical practitioners and readers with an affinity for theory.
